자바 에디션 1.16.4은 네더 업데이트의 다섯번째 릴리즈이다. 2020년 11월 2일 정식 출시되었다.

2020년 11월 2일 공개되었다. 10월 27일 공개된 1.16.4-rc1과 차이는 없다. 마인크래프트 계정과 관련된 설정이나 차단 기능을 다루고 있다.

추가 및 변경

사회적 상호작용 차단(Social interaction screen)
- 멀티플레이에서 서버에 있는 모든 플레이어의 목록에서 원하는 플레이어의 채팅을 숨길 수 있는 차단이 사용 가능함.
- 키 설정이 가능하며, 기본 키는 P임.
- 채팅을 숨긴 플레이어 목록은 서버에서 접속을 끊을 때 초기화됨.

차단된 플레이어(Blocked players)
- 마이크로소프트 계정으로 로그인 했을 때, 자신의 계정에서 차단한 플레이어들은 인게임에서도 차단되며, 계정 제한도 적용됨.
- 차단된 플레이어의 채팅은 항상 숨겨짐
- 차단된 플레이어가 초대한 렐름(Realm)은 숨겨짐
